This week we have installed two interpretation boards next to Archie.The boards have been designed with input form ourselves the Environment Agency and New Mills Town Council - one gives details about Archie and why he is here and what he does and the second positioned facing the weir covers the flora and fauna in the area - please let us know what you think.
Enormous thanks to the Environment Agency without whose help or funding this would not have happened.Kingfishers have been spotted in the last couple of days collecting food for their young from 'the square' (at the bottom of the cobbles heading into the Torrs from New Mills heading towards where the rivers Goyt and Sett meet next to Archie - please see other recent posts on other recent sights.
